Exro Technologies Inc. is bringing to market an “Alternate” Energy Generator that represents a curve-shifting approach to generating electrical power from renewable energy, such as wind, tide, run of river, etc. This new technology, called the “Variable Input Electrical Generator” or VIEG (pronounced “veej”) promises to have a positive material impact on the economics of renewable energy.
There are a stream of Innovative “off-grid” alternates (1kW to 10kW wind, tide, run of river etc.) currently coming to market in an effort to satisfy grass roots demand and accelerated by the recent economic stimulus package. Exro has the ability to help designers/manufacturers of new renewable energy power-plants, who are ‘hitting a wall’ due to the limitations imposed by traditional generators’ drop in efficiency when deployed in applications with variable input. To date, we have been approached by over 100 innovators expressing ready interest in the VIEG, and so we have created a fee for service offering to bench-test a designer’s chosen generator in a variable duty cycle and to deliver a detailed output report.
This sort of output data in a variable input energy (wind) cycle is virtually non-existent, yet it is a critical performance consideration for system designers. We are ideally positioned to help designers on this issue, since Exro already has a sophisticated test bench and a credible wind duty cycle.
Exro’s technology is ideally suited for the small wind market. The VIEG is the perfect solution to the industry’s mounting dissatisfaction with underperforming turbines. Another challenge the small wind market faces are the misleading performance claims for generators. The VIEG solves this problem in spades; we’re confident that it is the better generator every time.
We invite customers and innovators to send us your generators for our rigorous testing regime which will ascertain and validate your generator`s power curves. Customers will receive a detailed engineering report showing how their current generator performs in a variable regime and what the implications are for power output. Regardless of whether the customer chooses to incorporate the VIEG into their design, they will have gained a full understanding of their generator’s performance characteristics across a full performance spectrum. In addition, Exro will provide a comparison with the VIEG to show how efficiencies can be gained, energy losses reduced, with capital costs and earnings increased.
